best work

so, being a painter, sometimes your friends ask you to paint things for them that you might not want to do. but, last year my buddy homer asked me to help him paint a pink wall with a black lighting bolt on his living room wall in his apt in the east village. i thought i did a good job, but had no idea how much he liked it. check out his only tattoo!

nyc

i said god damn! it f****** cold in nyc! i been here since Wednesday night. just in time for it to get really cold (i am sorry 16 is cold to anyone). took a few day to get to my nyc bike. that was partly due to the large amount of drinking that happens when ever i get back to the city. still, somehow i got a good amount of work done as well. sold a painting, and started working out the show here for april, but as most my meeting, they all took place over drinks.

back to the bike. so, i did get my bike last night. rode it out to meet some friend. my ride home, to kelly's in Brooklyn, didn't go so well. got lost and it was really to cold!! but, i did make it......

i am off on the bike today to try a remember my around Brooklyn. i had it down last year, but i seem to have not retained much my bike route knowledge. it's time to put on many layers and get some coffee!

should know

so, my old friend andy "the volcano" crater his made his way back to gainesville for some winter training. andy is one of my only old pro racer buddies that is doing it. knowing this you would think i would know better than go on a "spin" with him, but guess i never learn. i knew i was in trouble when we were rolling out of the hood and he told that he was going try and keep his heart rate @ the 150's. it turn into me and my other buddy, lorne, just hanging to andy's wheel for two hour! man that hurt!!!! but i guess it's good for me.

off to nyc/philly for a week and a 1/2. couldn't bring the roll, but i do keep a bike in Brooklyn. so, should still have good (but COLD) bike adventures to share.

andy snapped this after killing for and hour, and then killed me for another hour after.

another year passes

now i am 36 (as of jan 8th)... that just doesn't seem like anything. i mean i felt that 35 was something, but 36? i guess i am just another year older. but, still i have a good feeling about 2010!

this is better!

ok, i know that i shouldn't complain, but it was damn cold here in fl the last few weeks! i mean we set a new record for the most day in a row with freezing temps, 12 days!!! it was in the teens at night and 30's in the day.

now it back to the way i like it (well if i have to have a winter. i would love the fla summer a year round if i could) highs are back in the 70's. been ride a lot, on my SS mnt bike , my globe, and my road bike. i have to say the one good thing about that bad weather, is everyone seem to out on there bike the last few days. i wish that there were always this many cute ladies on the bike path! took a ride out the local practices crit yesterday. look like to muck work to me, but i know its fun.

it happens to all of use

we all get flats. it really just sucks when you get one at 8am on a ride your home (still out from the night before). well got 2 bikes to work on, and a lambretta that won't start. this is when its nice to have a big van, and a studio/workshop. no better way to spend a sunday (after a long bday week of parties) than in my studio fixing my rides!
